Finals are coming closer! I can almost feel the stress in the air (or maybe the aroma of Starbucks coffee in everyone’s hands). Don’t fret, Gators. Here’s some tips on how to battle this upcoming week.
1) Get prepared. Ask your teacher what you should go over in preparation. Organize your notes a couple weeks before the test, make some flashcards and start going to the review sessions. By starting to study earlier, you won’t have to rush through all the material.
2) Be sure to take breaks. Studying for hours on end can feel overwhelming and will only stress you out more. Review your material for 30 minutes, then take a 5 minute break. Try eating a small snack, getting up and stretching or calling a friend. Just don’t go over the 5 minutes!
3) Breathe. It’s just a test. You reviewed the material, so feel prepared. You can do it, Gators!
Touching back on my last post regarding rainy days and making them into cozy days, I stumbled on the College Prepster’s tips on how to create a cozy atmosphere for a lazy afternoon. Her tips are great! With finals approaching, it’s important to keep the stress away and have a night (or even just a couple of hours) of relaxation to stay calm.
In addition, the Reitz Union will be hosting their annual De-Stress Study Fest during finals week. They’ll be offering tutoring sessions, open study rooms and free relaxing massages to any UF student. They’ll also have puppies on campus Monday and Wednesday (Dec. 3 + 5) for you to play with! Check their website for more details, including a daily calendar.
What do you do to stay calm during finals week? Let me know!
I wouldnt have known about the puppies if it weren’t for you! Great tips!! 😀
